The Medulla Doula

Postpartum care for your body, brain, and new life.

You take care of your baby.
Who’s taking care of you?

I’m Nan Luma, a San Francisco postpartum day doula, women’s health coach, and behavior change specialist. I support new parents through the enormous physical, emotional and practical transition that happens after bringing a baby home.

You weren't supposed to figure all of this out by yourself.

You’re learning your baby while recovering in a body that may not feel familiar yet. You're feeding somebody around the clock, sleeping whenever life allows it, trying to remember when you last ate, navigating a changing relationship with your partner, and Googling things at 3am that you never imagined you'd need to know.

Having support changes that experience.

And that is where I come in.

I was a women's health coach long before I became a doula.

For more than 12 years, I've helped women navigate their health through nutrition, movement, behavior change and brain-based coaching.

Becoming a postpartum doula brought all of that work home.

Because postpartum affects everything.

How you move. How you eat. How you sleep. How you think. How you relate to your partner. How you experience your body. How you organize your day. How safe, capable or completely overwhelmed you feel.

So when I come into your home, I'm paying attention to the whole person who had the baby.

You matter here, too.
